GOING
FOR THE GOLD...
by Dan Voss, Product Manager
As you may have heard, Sweet-Billing and Sweet-Field
Data have been awarded
NEMSIS Gold Compliance. But not all
of the product news is NEMSIS related.
Version 5.3 of the ‘Sweet’ applications, Sweet-CAD, Sweet-Field
Data and Sweet-Billing will introduce some of the most
significant enhancements in the history of these products.
Sweet-CAD gets a major new accessory – MobiCAD. MobiCAD
enables silent dispatch of your fleet by providing mobile data
terminal functionality and more. MobiCAD eliminates the need for
your dispatchers to voice dispatch vehicles, time stamp vehicles,
document crew members on vehicles, and keep track of where your
vehicles are. Your crews in the field will appreciate receiving all
the details of the dispatch on the computer installed in their
vehicle, and to be able see the location on an in-vehicle map.
Adding MobiCAD to your Sweet-CAD system will decrease the
workload on your dispatchers, and reduce the time lost by both
dispatchers and crew members through repeated voice communication.
Sweet-Billing and Sweet-Field Data have undergone
dramatic enhancements to comply with the requirements for NEMSIS
Gold Compliance. Billing and Field Data users alike now have access
to a variety of new fields to support the NEMSIS effort to
standardize data reporting to create a national database of EMS
statistics.
Sweet-Field Data remote users gain new fields and tools
including APGAR and Pediatric Trauma Score calculators. Some field
locations have changed to provide a more logical grouping of data
entry.
Sweet-Field Data Station and Sweet-Billing users will
see many enhancements including:
• Many of the fields that were previously in a grid on the Field
Info tab have been moved to other locations providing for a more
logical grouping of data and to provide more flexible control over
the usage of these fields.
• Provider Impressions have now been split from the Billing Call
Reasons.
• Fields have been added specifically for Transportation Indicators
• The Crew Narrative uploaded from Field Data has been separated
from Call Comments and is now on its own tab.
NEMSIS Gold Compliance introduced a lot of new fields for data
collection and tracking, but a large number of them will be turned
off by default, so customers have the ability to selectively enable
the fields for use.
Many states have already implemented data collection systems based
on the NEMSIS data standard, several states with existing data
collection systems are making plans to transition their systems to
the NEMSIS standards, and many other states are now in the planning
stages of new data collection systems.
With Sweet-Billing and Sweet-Field Data version 5.3,
you can collect all the NEMSIS data that your state may require. To
export the data to your state, contact your sales representative at
800-537-3927 for the runsheet module for your state.
