How do custom forms and custom report writing capabilities within your software application affect your billing operations? For Joe Scialdone, a MS graduate in Information Systems Management (undergrad degree in computer science and mathematics) and an 11-year veteran in ambulance billing – enough to switch the company’s EMS billing system.
“It is a critical component in a 911 environment,” Joe explains. “The EMTs are frequently in a ‘load-N-go’ scenario; we have a custom MVA form that immediately is sent to the patient to get their vehicle insurance information. Also, the custom report writing [through the Sweet-Billing application] allows us to print a scanning run sheet cover page which bar code prints the run number, and then auto-indexes the run form (patient first name / last name / private insurance) automatically when scanned.”

After selling the billing company, Joe was hired as the Vice President of Billing Services for Lifeguard Ambulance in Pensacola, FL and now bills for their 911 operation in Santa Rosa County, FL as President of Ambulance Bill Chaser, Inc. In its third year of service, the Ambulance Bill Chaser organization processes 18,000+ claims each year in the southeast area of the US and in Texas, utilizing the Sweet-Billing software and SENTRYFILE (http://www.sentryfile.com/index.cfm?index=PRODUCT/HOME) for imaging (EOBs, run sheets, etc.).
