Caldwell County Has Record Setting Year Following Sweet-Billing Checkup Program that Uncovered $2 Million Dollars

Caldwell Country Master Billers

When the reports were only showing a $1.3 million status out of a $2.3 million projection for the year, Gail knew something wasn't right. "If it were not for the Sweet-Billing checkup program," said Gail, "we would have gone under."

Back in March of this year, Caldwell County Ambulance, out of Lenoir, North Carolina, decided to purchase a Sweet-Billing Checkup service from Ortivus for $199 to try to uncover where the discrepancy existed between expected and actual accounts receivable.  After the senior billing specialist who had set up the Sweet-Billing Application at Caldwell County resigned, they realized no one knew the system as well as she. Fortunately, Gail learned about the checkup service that Ortivus offered, which quickly located schedules that were not operating correctly and calls that had not been billed. "We were so thrilled when Kathy [Ortivus Industry Education Coordinator/Support Services] sent the report. We would have never found those calls," said Gail.

After detecting where the problem existed in the schedules setup, a few follow-up calls were made to correct the problem and teach the staff how to properly use the schedules. "The Sweet-Billing system will work for you when it is set up correctly; Kathy got our system setup and explained step-by-step everything she was doing. Since then, we've been playing catch-up on billing and we've discovered that we've had the best year ever in Caldwell County."

After asking Gail where she would recommend this service to other Sweet-Billing users, she said that she would recommend that services just build it into their annual budget as an insurance policy. Perhaps the best description of the general sentiment following Caldwell County's Sweet-Billing Checkup experience can best be described by Gail's initial response when asked about her thoughts on the program - "It's excellent! We have sung ya'll’s praises!"
