Over 150 EMS Professionals Joined in Feb. 7th Webinar

Over 150 EMS professionals joined Ortivus and Page, Wolfberg and Wirth (PWW) in their joint webinar that they produced in partnership called, “The 2008 Coding Clinic – Real Answers to Real Claims” on February 7th, 2008. The average rating that participants gave the webinar was a 4.5 on a 5-point scale (with 5 being the highest rating), with comments that included:

“Very timely due to the new Medicare signature rule that just came out.”

“I thought this webinar was very interesting and made me think before answering an example. Well thought out for the examples. Good Job!”

“Excellent Presentation, glad I was able to participate, would definitely recommend.”

“Excellent information has been presented in this webinar-too bad we didn't have more time. This is the second event I've attended with PWW & I've learned a lot in both. They do a great job! Thank you.”

“WEBINARS ARE GREAT INFORMATION TOOLS”

With well over 100 questions that were submitted into the instant messaging Questions and Answers panel, there was no doubt that the presentation held the interest of everyone involved. As presenter, Doug Wolfberg, PWW attorney and founder, went through various scenarios of coding claims, he would first allow the webinar participants to try their hand at providing the correct code for the claim through an interactive poll that allowed votes to be cast, and then presented the audiences’ average selections. Although time did not allow for all questions to be answered, Doug graciously invited anyone with unanswered questions to send them to him via email and has, in return, provided several individual emails to the webinar participants with thorough answers to their questions. Ortivus, who administered the webinar, also worked diligently to respond to any needs of webinar participants, making sure to follow up on issues and take all feedback provided in the post-survey seriously for future webinar events. Both PWW and Ortivus appreciate the input that was given.

Webinars have become a popular means of gaining information and education at a minimal cost and time outlay. In other words, if organizational budgets are concerned with educating their staff at minimal costs, the webinar format provides an effective way to gain information while also allowing interaction between presenter and audience, without the cost and time associated with travel. Ortivus will continue to expand and utilize the webinar format as a way of connecting our industry and providing access to important information that benefits EMS professionals.
